10 Naxalites, including killers of SP, held in Bihar
Jamui, Nov 05: Ten suspected activists of the CPI-Maoist, including some persons allegedly involved in the killing of a superintendent of police, have been taken into custody in Bihar's Jamui district, police said today.
Officials said they suspected those held included some Naxalites involved in the killing of Munger's Superintendent of Police K C Surendra Babu on January five last year. They were nabbed from a place under Lakshmipur Police Station.
"Those held are being interrogated," a source said, refusing to divulge whether any firearms were recovered from their possession.
The suspected Naxalites were taken into custody during a raid following a tip-off that Maoist rebels were planning to create disturbance ahead of the Kranti Divas (Revolution Day) they have announced they will observe on November 7.
An alert has been sounded across the state, officials said.
