Ranchi, Dec 9 (IANS) Maoist rebels have extended their support to the Trinamool Congress in protest against the land acquisition by the West Bengal government in Singur district.

The Maoist rebels also launched a poster campaign in the bordering areas of West Bengal, coming down heavily on the Tata Motors that plans to set-up a small car factory in Singur.

The posters, which were pasted by the Communist Party of India-Maoist (CPI-Maoist), says it supports the agitation launched against the firm and the farmers should not be made landless in their own country.

Reacting on the poster campaign, a senior police official said that a similar campaign was also launched against the National Democratic Alliance government when it had signed pacts with investors to set up industries.

He further said the Maoist rebels have a set agenda against industrialisation.
