Naxal carrying Rs 1 lakh reward held
Gaya, Dec 20: A member of the CPI (Maoist) central committee, Arun Paswan alias Gautam, carrying a reward of Rs 1 lakh on his head, was arrested from Chandauti police station area of Gaya district late last night, police said today.
On a tip-off from state intelligence, they arrested Gautam from near Chandauti police station, deputy inspector general of police (Magadh range) Umesh Kumar Singh said.
Gautam, secretary of the special committee of the Naxal outfit in Bihar and Jharkhand, was wanted by the police of the two states in several cases of violence.
Gautam is suspected to be involved in the killing of former MP and LJP leader Rajesh Kumar during the last parliamentary polls, the DIG said, adding he was also wanted in connection with the attack on the Dumaria police station recently. (Agencies)
