CPI(ML) men protest colleague's murder
The activists of Khet Mazdoor Sabha and Communist Party of India (M-L) took out a procession and burnt an effigy of the State government in Varanasi on Monday to protest the murder of their colleague Ram Bux in Sitapur district on Saturday.
The procession that started from CPI(ML) office, reached Cantonment railway station where the activists burnt the effigy. The activists demanded arrest of the murderer and strongly criticised the Samajwadi Party-led State government for spurt in criminal activities across the State.
State secretary of Khet Mazdoor Sabha, Narendra Pandey said that land farmers, labourers and Dalits were being targeted by land mafias in the State and Ram Bux's murder was proved this. He added that Ram Bux had always opposed the alleged 'misrule' of Samajwadi Party government.
He alleged there were gross irregularities in the National Rural Employment Scheme and the State government was playing with the fate of common people.
Pandey said CPI (M-L) and Khet Mazdoor Sabha activists were opposing such forces but the State government was harassing the party workers in the name of crushing Naxal menace. He further demanded immediate arrest of Ram Bux’s murderer.
He warned the State government that if harassment of CPI (M-L) and Khet Mazdoor Sabha leaders was not stopped, they would launch a massive movement against the State government soon.
He further said that an agitation would be staged across the State on July 20 on these issues.
Prominent among those who were present in the demonstration included, national general secretary of AISA Sunil Yadav, Sarita Patel, Shiksha Pandey, comrade Anubhav and Vivek Yadav.
