Youth from ‘Naxal’ villages get BPO jobs

Who said Naxalites are anti-development ?

Wherever the naxalites go, development follows....

The state is getting jobs for these people not because
it is really worried about their future but it is naxalphobia
which is behind this whole scheme.

The only reason they have jobs today is because the
revolutionary Maoists decided to spread their base
to their village...

Hosur: The first batch of students from ‘Naxalite’villages who completed plus 10 and were trained in BPO operations got their appointment orders. “About 24 trainees (agents) from Naxalism-prone villages in and around Hosur have completed training in the Rural Business Process Outsourcing unit-cum-call centre called FOSTeRA (Fostering Technologies in Rural Areas) at Chanachandiram near Hosur.

The agents are involved in data conversion and XML tagging in the voice module sector,” District Collector Santhosh Babu told The Hindu. “While the forenoon session has been dedicated for the training programme the afternoon session will focus on commercial activities. The schedule for night shift operations will commence shortly. The selected candidates will get a salary of Rs. 4,500 to Rs. 5,000 per month,” Mr. Babu said. “Steps have been initiated to register FOSTeRA with NASSCOM. Talks are on with top-notch companies to get their back office work,” he said.

The BPO has already inked a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with major companies and will venture into voice module shortly.
