12 Maoists surrender in Andhra Pradesh
Hyderabad, Oct 07: Twelve Maoists, including a self-styled deputy commander and a woman extremist on Saturday surrendered in three districts of Andhra Pradesh, police said.

Of the 12 surrendered, ten Maoists including a woman carried rewards ranging from Rs 20,000 to 50,000 on their head, police said.

At Adilabad district, a so called deputy commander of Mangi Dalam Jugnaka Jaithu alias Amruth alias Vinod (18) surrendered before District Superintendent of Police Kripanand Tripathi Ujela.

Vinod had joined the outfit during the peace talks between Naxalites and the State Government in 2004.

In Mahabubnagar district, ten ultras including a woman surrendered before the District SP K Srinivas Reddy.

While the woman Naxal member of Achampeta area committee carried a reward of Rs 50,000, nine others carried rewards of Rs 20,000 each on their head.

In Visakhapatnam, a Maoist Sindri Giri surrendered to police after an exchange of fire in which his colleague a top Naxal leader carrying a reward of Rs three lakh died.
